We are almost done with our new EP. We recorded vocals for 2 of the songs: “Ocean Harvest” and “Vigo.” The other song has turned out to be somewhat tricky and we have decided to rework some of the lyrics and most vocal melodies. So once we get that all figured out we will be back at Sterling’s to lay that song down and we will be done!

Until then you should come out this Saturday to The Boiler Room in Deep Ellum and see us with Light The Fire, American High, Black Tie Vendetta and Murderers/Thieves!

EP Update

So we have been really busy lately with shows and recording. We are recording with Sterling Winfield (Pantera, Hellyeah, Love Stricken Demise, Bear Witness) again and everything is sounding fucking killer! We went into Nomad Studios and knocked out drums and guitars. We can’t wait to go in and finish up bass and vocals soon.

We have a HUGE show lined up for you soon here in Dallas. We are headlining at The Boiler Room with Light The Fire (ex System Overload, Prayer for the Fallen), American High, Black Tie Vendetta and Murderers/Thieves. We can’t wait to tear up the stage with these guys!

We are also selling tickets for the show if you need them, and I highly suggest you do since they are going fast!

Recording our new EP

So we are gearing up to get back into the studio to record our follow up to “The Golden Vine”. We are working with Sterling Winfield again. You might know his from his work with Pantera, Hellyeah and other local Dallas acts such as Bear Witness and Love Stricken Demise. We plan on being at Nomad Studios in the next few weeks to lay down drums and guitars. Needless to say, we are stoked to show you what we have been working on since Chris has joined the band. We have evolved our sound a lot in the last year and can’t wait to show you guys!

Until then you can catch us on stage this weekend at The Double Wide as part of a Third String Productions Showcase with Dark Horse Darling, They Cried Apollo! and The News Can Wait. It’s a $5 show! So come out and party!

So two of my favorite local metal bands have had some crazy news this past few weeks. For one there are rumors that the band that got me into the Dallas metal scene, My Son My Executioner, may be reuniting. We’ll see what develops, but that would be bad ass to see. I mean check this out:

The other news over the break Kaliya has lost their lead singer. We wish the best of luck to Jacob in his future endeavors and hope that Kaliya can find a new singer ASAP and help us keep the Dallas metal scene alive and well.

I’ve been slacking. I’ve been meaning to update for a while, but I’ve been too busy being to metal for my own good. Deal with it chumps.

Where did I leave off? Oh yeah! Awesome Dallas metal bands, we played a show the other night at The Boiler Room and it was awesome! Thanks to all who made it out. Big thanks to our brosefs in Dying Ground and Where Killers are Kings (who are looking for a new singer, by the way).

The new year is almost upon us, and we have lots and lots of plans in the works for you guys. First and foremost on the list is a new EP. We are in the planning stages of it right now, but look forward to new tunes in the near future.

The rest of the list? You will have to wait and see!

Holy shit! The show on Sunday was awesome, to say the least! Big thanks to Dying Ground, Giant of the Mountain and Psychiatric Regurgitation for making it a fun show. This is what the Dallas metal scene is about! Great bands supporting each other and having fun while making it all happen.

If you missed this show, don’t worry we have another show in the works for December 2 at The Boiler Room. This show will be particularly special since it will be on my birthday, and about a week before Derek’s. So let the BIRTHDAY BASH commence! We will put out more details as we get them.

These are some of our favorite metals bands in Dallas. We are particularly excited to be playing with our buds in Giant of the Mountain. They have a practice space right down the hall from us and we love to drink 40s with them and leave their singer/guitarist, Cody, love notes under the door. He has a glorious beard that we all wish we could make love to…

I digress.

These guys are sick, check them out and buy their EP “Mother Hydra” for super cheap on their Band Camp Page . I highly recommend it to any one who likes melodic blackened sludge metal (whatever the fuck that means).

What about The Golden Vine?

Some of you may be wondering why we did not play any of the songs from our recent EP “The Golden Vine” at our last show. Seems odd, doesn’t it? We had a huge CD release show and everything! What’s wrong with us?!?

The answer is simple. We are moving on from that era of OWM. For better or worse we decided to leave those songs and stories as Logan’s imprint and legacy. Chris has started to craft his own stories and we felt it better to start with fresh songs.

New Material

Onward We March — Sat, 02 Jul 2011 16:39:14 +0000

We’ve been writing like crazy people so we can get back on stage with an ALL NEW SET for you! We’ve already got 3 songs down, 4 more are 70-90% complete and these songs are SICK.

Direction wise, we’re keeping the mixture of straight brutality with brain-melting technicality as we have in the past. It’s a tough balance to maintain, honestly, but it suits our music and personalities. One of the new songs, Sons of a Broken Sky (working title), will make you punch a rhino in the crotch it’s so brutal. Chris’ singing is kicking up our songwriting to a new level, we’re even working on a little surprise for everyone featuring his pipes.
